

BIO - Darcy Rofe
Darcy Rofe is an Australian artist, A multi-instrumentalist, who has just released his debut EP. "Afterthought," at just 18 years old. He has been influenced by classic Rock, Pop, Blues and Folk as a writer, and enjoys creating simple, but deep, meaningful and introspective songs that draw emotion from listeners.
PERSONAL BACKGROUND
Darcy's love for music flourished very early on in life, hugely inspired by members of his own family and their respective musical knowledge and taste, he was fascinated with music in all its many forms. He began playing drums at 5 years old, inspired by many classic rock drummers such as Ringo Starr, John Bonham, Phil Collins, Charlie Watts, Ian Paice, and Neil Peart, and many lesser known alternative-style drummers. He then began to learn guitar at the age of 10, taking lessons in primary school and continuing to teach himself through high school, Developing a love for learning an creating many melodies on the six strings. Darcy has also recently begun to teach himself Piano/Keyboard, a journey that he is thoroughly enjoying.
WRITING BACKGROUND AND INFLUENCES
Darcy has been writing songs and lyrics of much variety from a young age, experimenting with different genre's and lyrical styles, He has written many personal works over the years with "Afterthought" being his very first published music.
Darcy's song writing is influenced widely by many artists such as the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jackson C. Frank, Johnny Cash, Peter Gabriel, Lewis Capaldi, James Blunt, Steve Winwood, Elton John and Greta Van Fleet. Darcy's melodies are often quite simple with complimenting instrumentation and emotive and introspective Lyrics.
PERFORMANCE BACKGROUND
Darcy has had a large love of performance since he was young, never too shy to step out in front of a crowd and put on a show. He has performed in many school based productions, music nights and musicals. He has also performed at a local state school Battle of the Rock Bands completion twice in a row, taking home 3rd place in 2022. Most recently he has been involved in Creative Generation, State Schools Onstage at Brisbane Entertainment and Exhibition Centre in 2023 and 2024.
Darcy has a special soft spot for the art of performance, and has often said "I've never really felt more alive or happier than when I'm on stage, I think it's something I'll love forever."
